How I Got Here
Hi I’m Lana, a mom of a very rambunctious son who always inspires me to dream not just big but bigger and to live in the moment especially the small ones. A born and raised city girl who lacked a green thumb turned farmher…that’s me.
When I started this journey I had no idea the path I was on would turn out this great.
I was surrounded by animals, the fresh outdoors, the ideas I was planning in my mind were endless. But first I had to learn everything about raising livestock, gardening and making soap along with running my own business — yikes!
Still working full time in a corporate office surrounded by cubicle walls. I’ve done it for the past eleven years and the fear of leaving overwhelmed me.
Day in and day out the same routine (but walking away brought that fear) but I couldn’t see myself doing this for the next 25 years becoming what you would call a company lifer especially having experienced the farm life (but the fear).
I had a lot of work to do. I learned each animal’s needs, nutrition and housing the same as gardening plants have needs, time to grow to maturity and providing those needs our garden flourished.
Soap making is an art combined with science something I knew nothing about but the challenge was on and it took time but I learned and I LOVE IT! and I want to share my art, my thoughts, my wins and losses with you.
So here I am working toward my dream of one day becoming a full time fempreneur and losing the fear of walking away from the corporate world to raise our animals and sell my handcrafted soaps and quality meats and vegetables. Thanks for being here and joining me on this journey.
